Thon Tha Village has an area of 120 hectares, with 124 households and a population of 592, of which 99% are Tay people. Currently, the village has 122 stilt houses, more than 90% of which still retain their traditional architecture. In addition, the villagers also focus on preserving and maintaining the intangible cultural heritage of their ancestors, such as Then singing, plowing dance, hat dance, bowl dance, ethnic musical instruments, traditional costumes, folk games, etc.

                Based on relevant laws, decrees, decisions, and the submission of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee has decided to recognize Thon Tha Cultural Tourism Village as a tourist destination.

             Accordingly, the People's Committee of Ha Giang province assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province to be responsible for guiding, inspecting, urging and supervising the People's Committee of Ha Giang city and the units owning, and managing recognized tourist, Ensure strict compliance with current legal regulations.

             Recognition as a tourist destination will contribute to the sustainable development of local tourism activities, opening up new opportunities in promotion, advertising, product development and investment attraction.
